JACKSONVILLE – Doug Pederson likes what he sees.
Pederson, the Jaguars’ head coach, early this week said the team didn’t have a great week of practice leading to a loss this past Sunday. He said he feels differently as Sunday’s home game against the Houston Texans approaches.
“It has been a lot better,” he said as the Jaguars (1-1) prepared to play the Texans (0-2) at EverBank Stadium Sunday at 1 p.m. “Guys have had a couple good days here and we’re still working obviously working through the dynamics of everything. It has been a good week.”
Also Friday:
- Wide receiver Zay Jones was ruled out with a knee injury sustained against the Kansas City Chiefs Sunday and rookie safety Antonio Johnson was ruled out for a third consecutive game to start the season with a hamstring injury. Neither practiced this past week.
- Three players were listed as questionable on the final injury report of the week with shoulder injuries sustained against the Chiefs: Outside linebacker Josh Allen, safety Andrew Wingard and defensive tackle Foley Fatukasi.
Pederson also said left tackle Cam Robinson will travel with the team to London next week in advance of a Week 4 game against the Atlanta Falcons at Wembley Stadium. He is serving a four-game NFL suspension, and will be eligible to practice and play against the Buffalo Bills at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London in Week 5.
“We’ve got permission from the league to take him,” Pederson said.
Robinson returned to the team this week and can attend meetings until Week 5.
“It’s great to see him back,” Pederson said.
